Claude Dashboards: AI-powered dashboards for business data, goodbye to Excel reports?

Claude Dashboards: A question becomes a live business dashboard

The Monday morning report, exported from the management system, organized in Excel, and sent via email: this is how it still works in many companies. On October 8, 2026, Anthropic launched Claude Dashboards, which promises to replace this ritual with a question in Italian: you connect the data, ask what you want to see and get a dashboard with artificial intelligence that updates itself. Let's see how it works, what it can actually do, and where specific skills and tools are still needed.

What is Claude Dashboards?

Claude Dashboards is a feature of Claude that builds live dashboards on your business data starting from a natural language question, launched in beta on October 8, 2026, on all paid plans. Connect a data platform or CRM, specify what you want to track, and Claude creates a dashboard with graphs and indicators that update as the data changes.

It arrived together with Claude Motion, which transforms reports and graphs into short animated videos: two sides of the same coin, bringing data and presentations into the assistant instead of leaving them scattered across different tools.

How Claude's AI Dashboard Works

Ask a question, Claude writes queries to the data and builds graphs, showing you the query behind each number. This last detail is the most important: you can verify how a data was calculated before sharing it, instead of trusting a number you don't know where it came from.

  1. Connect the data source: a data warehouse or a CRM via Claude connectors.
  2. Ask: “show me the turnover by area and by month, compared to last year.”.
  3. Check charts and queries, and ask for changes in chat.
  4. Share the dashboard with your team, or switch it to a more advanced analytics tool.

Dashboards use the data access people already have: Claude doesn't see anything more than you would.

What data does it connect to?

TypeExamples cited at the launch
Data platformsAmazon Redshift, BigQuery, ClickHouse, Databricks, Snowflake
CRM and business appsVia Claude connectors, such as Salesforce
Analysis tools to switch the dashboard toAmplitude, Grafana, Hex, Mixpanel, Omni, Perplexity, PostHog, Sigma; Looker, monday.com, and Tableau announced for the coming months

The weak point for many Italian SMEs is right here: the data is not in a data warehouse, but in a management system, in some Excel spreadsheet that is no longer enough and in a CRM that's not up to date. Before the dashboard, you need a neat place to read them.

Who can use it and how much does it cost?

Claude Dashboards is in beta on all paid plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise) and has no separate cost. On Enterprise plans, it is disabled by default and must be enabled by the administrator in the organization's settings, under Artifacts.

He's not alone in the race: about a month earlier, OpenAI had introduced a data agent in ChatGPT with similar capabilities. AI-powered dashboards are becoming a standard feature of assistants for work.

What changes for SMEs

Change who can do the analysis: no longer does a technician need to answer every question about the numbers. The sales manager can directly check the progress of customer orders, and the owner can monitor margins without waiting for the end-of-month report.

  • Sales: turnover by area, product and agent, comparison with previous years.
  • Marketing: cost per contact and conversions by channel, cross-referencing campaigns and CRM.
  • Operations: delivery times, stocks, late orders.
  • Direction: a unique view of the few indicators that really matter, the Company KPIs to be monitored every week.

The best dashboard is the one that answers the question you ask yourself every Monday. So the real work isn't drawing graphs, but deciding which numbers to look at.

The Limits: Why Data Matters More Than the Tool

  • It's a betaAnthropic hasn't released accuracy and reliability data, so the numbers need to be verified, especially initially.
  • Messy data, wrong answers: if the same customer appears with three different names in the management system, no AI will calculate the correct turnover.
  • Metrics to be defined: “margin” or “active customer” must mean the same thing to everyone, otherwise each question gives a different number.
  • Sources must be linkableMany Italian management systems do not have ready-made connectors and require dedicated integration.

When sources are not connectable or specific indicators are needed, the solution is a tool built on your processes: a custom software which collects data and makes it readable, even by AI. This is the work we do in Artificial intelligence consulting for companies.

Conclusion

Claude Dashboards makes dashboards accessible to anyone who knows how to ask a question, and the ability to see the query behind each number is a tangible step forward in transparency. But it only really works if the data is organized and connected, and if the company knows which numbers it wants to look at.

The Monday report can go away. Good questions, however, are more important than ever. And if you want to go a step further, also connecting email, calendar, tasks, and CRM, read our guide to corporate company brain.
